Research Associate at Cornell University
I am a Research Associate at the Tata-Cornell Institute (TCI) for Agriculture and Nutrition in Cornell University’s Department of Global Development. My research focuses on social policy design and impact, with an emphasis on health, nutrition, and food security programs.
I lead TCI’s work on sustainable agricultural value chains in India and am working on a book on in-kind food-based safety nets. My research also examines the effectiveness of conditional cash transfers in improving maternal and child health, as well as the implications of portability in India’s Public Distribution System (PDS).
I hold a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Syracuse University and have previously worked with the World Bank’s Social Protection and Labor Global Practice in India. I also have an MPP from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, and a BA (Honors) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi.
