Raghav Puri

Research Associate at Cornell University

I am a research associate at the Tata-Cornell Institute (TCI) at Cornell University's Department of Global Development. My research examines the implementation and impact of social policies with a focus on health and nutrition programs.

Currently, I am working on projects that estimate the true cost of food subsidies, examine the benefits and limitations of using cash transfers (in lieu of in-kind benefits) in nutrition programs, and study the effectiveness of using conditional cash transfers to improve maternal and child health.

I received a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Syracuse University in 2020. Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked with the Social Protection and Labor Global Practice of the World Bank in India. I received a Masters in Public Policy (MPP) from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a BA (Honors) in Economics from St. Stephen's College at the University of Delhi.
